Update of Term 4 Week 9

Today we had our first Rutherford Team Collaborative TRUMP!  The children were able to play with all the fabulous sport equipment that has been paid for by the PTA! This equipment is for the Rutherford team only.

These swing balls were very popular.

Jay on the stilts.

Trying to get the ball in the cup proved to be a challenge.

The PTA purchased 3 of these swing ball sets.

Room 1 looked great in their Christmas get ups today.

Next week; Monday the children come to school in their sports gear. We will be walking down to Cashmere High for a practice. They will take their morning tea with them. If this the morning tea could be in a named plastic bag that would be very helpful. Then Monday night at 5.45pm we will all be down at Cashmere High again for the actual Prize giving.

Tuesday the children will be in their sports gear as normal.  On Tuesday I will send the all the books the children have used this year home. [ Today I sent home their spares and stationery that they hadn't used.]

Wednesday is our 'Fun Day' old clothes. Please refer to the email sent out last week.

Thursday will be school uniform as we will only be here for the morning. You are all very welcome to attend the 'Leavers Mass'. At 11.15 approx [please check the school web site as I am not sure of the time!!! ]

Have a lovely weekend

Mary

Round up of Term 4 Week 4

Swimming was the highlight of the week. It just went like clockwork from the first day.

As you can see they are all waiting to start their lessons.

After swimming we are able to go into their gym and play some games while waiting for Rm 2 to finish,.

Here they are playing 'Duck Duck Goose Goose'.

This week is just a normal one---being a short one is even better!

Round up of Term 4 week 3

Hopefully you would have heard last night about our Bee botics session. It was great fun.

You can see the delight in their faces! Kendal,  Connor's Dad was one of our helpers.

There was a lot of thinking involved as one of the pair gave instructions to their partner on how the bee was to move

This gives you a clearer picture of how they moved.
On Tuesday Miss Sheard took the children for their first session in T Ball.

The boys waiting in line for a hit.

Our two new boys, Jackson and Cameron on their first day at school.

The girls waiting for their turns.

On Wednesday it was the 3rd Art session in Paper Mache.

They are all engrossed!

Many thanks to those who brought some gifts for St Vincent de Paul. After lunch today we gathered in Rm 2 and listened to Paul from St Vincent de Paul. In the photo you can see some of the gifts. There were far more behind him.

Many thanks to those who brought some gifts for St Vincent de Paul. After lunch today we gathered in Rm 2 and listened to Paul from St Vincent de Paul. In the photo you can see some of the gifts. There were far more behind him.  Rm 2 helped him take out the toys etc to his car--we packed it all up.

Next week is Swimming--please fell free to come down any time! The more hands the merrier. On Tuesday it is All Saints Day so the school will be going to the church for mass.

Our final New Entrant --Lyla Jordan starts on Monday. We welcome her and her family.

Round up of Term 4 week 1

It was a busy week for the first one back. The School Athletic sports on Tuesday were a highlight. We couldn't have wanted for better weather.

Our topic for religious education for the next 3 weeks is looking at our school charism; so we are looking into the sisters who taught at our school. On Wednesday Sr Eleanor came to talk to the children about Mary MacKillop who founded the order of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart.

The children are trying their best to neatly colour in a picture of Mary MacKillop.
Also on Wednesday the children began to make their paper mache bugs with Mrs Hooker.

Miss Sheard helping Finn, Freya, Devon and Luciano.

Kimberley --Carter's Mum is helping Grace, Malia, Carter and Zoe.

Maria- Zoe's Mum is helping Ethan, Zoe Elise and Lily.
I am hoping that everyone got the email I sent out on Friday afternoon with the Term 4 newsletter attached.
This week we have Kelly Sports on Tuesday doing a 1 off session with the children. Being our PE day the children will be in the correct clothing.
Thursday is School Photo day--the children come in their school uniform. Please make sure if you have a boy that he has his school jersey that day. The boys not the girls wear their school jersey for the photo.  No sports gear is needed.

For prayers this month we are praying a shortened version of the rosary. October is the month of the rosary. If any of the children have their own rosary beads they are welcome to bring them. [We do have a class set of rosary beads]

Kind regards,
Mary

Welcome to Term 4

I do hope everyone had a relaxing break despite the weather!!  Term 4 is always the busiest term of the year and we start straight into it on Tuesday with the School Athletics. Friday is the postponement date. Hopefully you will have received all your notices.

The children will be walking down to Hillmorton High and only the Rutherford team will return to school by bus. Remember the children need to be wearing their house colour T shirt/polo shirt and green shorts. If its cold their track pants can go over the shorts until they participate in their events.

On Friday if we are not having the Athletics it will be Blue House [Mackillop] mufti. They won the House point competition last term.

During the last week of Term 3 we had Fireman Simon Ralph  --Elijah and Peter's Dad come to talk to the Rutherford team. In his talk he highlighted the importance of each family having a plan of where one would meet if your house was on fire.

Connor is holding the picture.

The children have been getting into their creative story writing near the end of the term.

Carter and Leo enjoying themselves.

Finn and Malia sharing their ideas.
Lastly remember to send along their Summer uniform tomorrow and they do need their sun hats.

Kind regards,
Mary
